Gloria Peterson, age 80, of Ada, MN died Monday, December 20, 2021, peacefully at her home.

Gloria Marlene Peterson (known as Tootsie to her siblings) was born June 10, 1941, the daughter of Miron and Laura (Treichel) Widrig in Crookston, MN. Gloria was raised on a farm outside of Fertile, MN and graduated from Fertile High School. On September 30, 1961, Gloria was united in marriage to Marlen Peterson. The couple made their home on a farm east of Ada where they raised five children.

Gloria worked at the Fertile Bank and as a cook for Ada Senior Meals, but was most known for her being the mom that was always there for her children. She was a Sunday School teacher for decades and Sunday School Superintendent for several years at St. John's. She was active in 4-H and helped with every float, concession stand, and fair booth. She attended all of her children's concerts, games, and plays. She was a baker at heart and decorated cakes for relative's birthdays, confirmations, and graduations. Gloria liked to garden, put together puzzles, and play cards. And when her grandchildren came along, a whole new chapter in her heart opened up.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Marlen Peterson of Ada; sons: Marlen Jr. (Nancy) Peterson of Fargo, ND; Paul (Rosie) Peterson of Brookings, SD; daughters: Tammy (Terry) Peterson of Moorhead, MN; Susan (Jason) Bahls of Dilworth, MN; LeAnn Peterson of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Kaylen (Austin) Stanley of Fargo, ND; Jordan Peterson of Glastonbury, CT; Katelyn Arman of Orono, ME; Eric Bahls of West Fargo, ND; Tim Peterson of Fargo, ND; Amy Peterson of Fargo, ND; Derek Peterson of Brookings, SD; great grandchild: Brenda Stanley of Fargo, ND; sisters: Marlys Visser of Gary, MN; RoseMary (Lew) Modahl of Moorhead, MN; brother: Mike (Linda) Widrig of Fertile, MN; numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She is proceeded in death by her father, Miron in July 2008; her mother, Laura in March 2014; brother in-laws: Gerald in 2002, Harvey in 2002; sister, Karen in 2014; several nieces and nephews and their best friend DuWayne Schroeder this past spring.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 29 ^th , 2021 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, 700 E Thorpe Ave, Ada. Please note, due to the current Covid-19 restrictions it is requested that all visitors wear a mask and no reception will follow.  If you are unable to attend, the service will be available on the funeral home website.

Visitation: One hour before the funeral service at the funeral home.

Interment: Green Meadow Cemetery, Ada, MN.
