Gloria Rita Goble, age 82, of Waubun, MN died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at her home.

Gloria Rita Goble, the daughter of William and Lousia (King) Osh kin owe Jackson, was born on April 13, 1929 at Rogalski's Mill, near Mahnomen, MN. She grew up in White Earth, MN and attended school at The Mission. As a young woman, Gloria moved to the Minneapolis, MN, area and began working as a waitress. While living there she also was employed by the American Linen Company. In the early 1950's Gloria moved back White Earth and met Stanley Goble. Gloria and Stanley were united in marriage on April 13, 1953 and the couple made their first home in Ogema, MN. They later moved to Waubun and Gloria stayed busy raising their large family. In the late 1960's she worked for Swifts and in the late 1970's, Gloria owned and operated Goble's Tavern in Waubun. They moved to a home Strawberry lake, near Ogema and Gloria sold the tavern in the early 1980's. Following Stanley's death in 2006, Gloria moved into Waubun where she has made her home. Thanks to the care of her children, Gloria was able to remain in her home until the time of her death.

Gloria was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waubun and in the past was active with the Katari women's fellowship group in White Earth. Gloria liked to garden and often canned much of her produce in addition to cooking and baking treats. She was also a talented seamstress and made many outfits for her children and grandchildren. In her younger years, Gloria enjoyed hunting and fishing but most recently she loved Bingo and to find a good deal at a rummage sale. She treasured her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Blessed be the Memory of Gloria Rita Goble.

Gloria is survived by two sons, Stanley Goble Jr., and Paul (Mary) of Mahnomen, MN; five daughters: Gloria Leslie of Waubun, Sandra (Bruce Crouse) Johnson of Bejou, MN, Selena Scott, Kathleen Goble, and Marlene Sprouls all of Mahnomen, MN. One brother, James Jackson of Waubun; one sister, Elizabeth Clark of Detroit Lakes, MN; 14 grandchildren: Kalum Johnson, Chad Habedank, Crystal Johnson, Tommy Habedank, Kimberly Neisen, Brian Hayden, Ronald Habedank, Patrick Leslie Jr., Cassandra Villebrun, Lucas Sprouls, Amber Sprouls, Summer Leslie, Debbie Villebrun, and Patrick Estey; 17 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley; an infant son; and a great grandson, Justin Habedank.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waubun, with Pastor Al Brooks officiating. Special Music will be provided by Gwen Krabbenhoft, with Drumming by the White Earth Boyz Drum Group. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Neisen, Ronald Habedank, Chad Habedank, Tommy Habedank, Lucas Sprouls, Patrick Leslie Jr., Paul Goble, and Kalum Johnson. Honorary bearers will be all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 15th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home in Mahnomen. Visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday.

Interment will take place at the Ogema City Cemetery.
