Glenice Virginia
Jensen
Oct 27, 1924 — Apr 4, 2014
On November 27, 1943, Glenice was united in marriage to Henry Jensen at Jeffers. After Henry was discharged from the Navy, they moved to rural Borup, MN, where they farmed and raised their children. In 1966, Glenice began teaching at Borup Public School, where she used her natural abilities to educate and influence young people. Glenice retired in 1989, after teaching for 23 years. They continued to live on the farm and enjoyed their family and friends. Henry died on January 22, 1995. Glenice was a former member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church, rural Borup, and a current member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN. She was active in the ladies groups at the church and the VFW Auxiliary.
Being creative, happy and uplifting made Glenice a joy to be around. Her enthusiasm for life and learning was an inspiration for her children and students. If Glenice wanted something done, her determination and ingenuity usually allowed the project to be completed. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing clothing for many of the families' special occasions. She was also a tremendous baker and cook, making pies, cookies and all kinds of bread products. Gathering educational gifts for grandchildren and always being available for her family demonstrated her deep love and devotion to their lives.
Glenice is survived by her children: Virgil, Borup, MN; Greg (Carol), Lisbon, ND, Renee Brantner (Jerry Olson), Waubun, MN, Rita (James) Rowland, Park Rapids, MN, Timothy, Blaine, MN, and Kim (Dale) Hoff, Crookston, MN; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marlys Puchta, Ankeny, IA; nephews, nieces, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son-in-law, Mark Brantner, and one brother-in-law, Gil Puchta.
