Obituary

Giselle Jewel Lyons, age 66, of Naytahwaush, MN, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at her home.

Giselle Jewel Keezer was born October 28, 1956, the youngest child of William Sewell Keezer and Darlene Shirley Fairbanks.  Her youth was spent in various communities where she attended school.  Following her schooling, Giselle continued to move around from place to place going to the West Coast, down south to Texas but returned to the Minneapolis, MN, metro, where she spent many years.  She met LeRoy Lyons and they were united in marriage on October 13, 1985 in Minneapolis.  The couple returned to the White Earth Reservation and made their home in Naytahwaush, raising their family.  LeRoy died in February of 2002, and Giselle continued to live in Naytahwaush until her passing.

Giselle had a great sense of humor and often spoke her mind.  In her spare time, she enjoyed watching true crime and paranormal shows on television.  She also liked reading those same type of thriller novels.  Above all, Giselle loved her family and spending time with them.  She was a caring, good-natured individual who would open her home and her cupboards to those in need with no judgement.  Over the years, she helped many family and friends and was an Auntie to one and all!  She will be greatly missed by many.

Giselle is survived by a son, Justin (Renee) Keezer of Bemidji, MN; daughters: LaReina (Dwayne) Cooper of Mahnomen, Anne Star Lyons, Giselle Lee (Tim Myers) Lyons both of Naytahwaush, Fallon (Andrew) Davidson of Ogema, MN, and Catheryne (Shelbe Fairbanks) Lyons also of Naytahwaush; special son, LeRoy Chief; brothers: Reed Keezer, Rock (Jana) Keezer and Charlie Coleman all of Naytahwaush; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special friend, Warren Seaverson and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Tommy; and siblings: Donovan Keezer, William "Billy" Keezer, Faith Keezer, Ann Keezer, and Kenneth Coleman, Jr.; and many extended family members.

Private family services will be held.
