Obituary

Gina Lang, age 58, of Naytahwaush, MN, died on Sunday, December 1, 2024.

Gina Faye Burnette was born March 31, 1966, in Mahnomen, MN, the daughter of Edward J. and Ada (Beaulieu) Burnette Sr.  She attended elementary school in Naytahwaush followed by Mahnomen High School.  In her earlier years, Gina worked at Star Fireworks, while living in Hunter, ND.  Gina then furthered her education at the vo-tech receiving her secretarial degree.  She also took some Blackjack and Poker training, implementing her skills at the Shooting Star Casino.  Gina worked several years at the casino working as a cocktail waitress and a blackjack dealer before her declining health forced her into an early retirement.

Gina enjoyed leeching in the spring, listening to all kinds of music, playing cards, and working on cross word puzzles.  She loved taking trips to try her luck at the casino and baking, her specialty was peanut butter cookies.  Gina was a quiet individual yet very outgoing in her own way with a great sense of humor.  She had a huge heart with an open door to anyone in need.  Over the years, she looked after many of Gene's friends, especially Matt, who spent more time at her house than at home.  She loved her friends and family, with her grandchildren being her pride and joy.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gina is survived by her son, Gene (Courtney) Lang of Mahnomen; four grandchildren: Jesse, Joseph, Julian and Genevieve; brothers, Terry Burnette and Shane Burnette both of Naytahwaush; sister-in-law, Mary Burnette; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wallie; brothers, Edward "Butchie" Jr. and Shannon; and sisters: Julie Burnette, Cheryl Brown and infant, Noreen Burnette.

Blessed be the memory of Gina Lang.
