Gertrude Vik, 95, Ada, MN, died at Bridges Care Community, Ada MN, on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

Gertrude was born in Thompson, ND on January 2, 1918 to Julia (Sannes) and Martin Holien. After her parents died, she stayed at home and helped her brothers farm.

Gertrude married Lars Eugene Vik on November 5, 1944 in Thompson, ND and moved to their farm in St. Hilaire, MN. In 1951 they purchased a farm in Hegne Township near Ada. Lars died on May 8, 1991 in Twin Valley, MN.

Gertrude was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, active in St. Mary's Circle. She stayed on the farm until her stroke and heart attack in 2001 when she was moved into Bridges.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband; a daughter, Sharon Ann; six brothers, Walter, Halvor, Gilbert, Clarence, Ervin and Morris; and a sister, Ethel. She is survived by Eugene (Marijo) Vik, Ada, MN.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, January 18, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
