Gerald "Pete" Thompson, age 70, of White Earth, MN, died on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at his home.

Gerald Wayne Thompson was born in White Earth to Myrtle Boswell Thompson and Maurice Jackson on February 24, 1956.  Growing up, he attended elementary school in Park Rapids, MN, and his family later moved to Minneapolis, MN.  Following his high school graduation, Pete entered the United States Marine Corps.  After serving, he returned to the White Earth Reservation where he made his home in White Earth until his death.  Over the years, Pete worked as a logger and mechanic in addition to raising his family.

Pete's enthusiasm for automobiles went beyond the capacity of working as a mechanic, but also as a car collector.  He enjoyed fishing, breeding pitbulls, collecting coins and spending time with family, especially his children and grandchildren.  He also had a love for homemade bread, frybread and cinnamon rolls.  Pete had a great sense of humor and will be remembered as a very generous and helping individual, always willing to lend a hand whenever needed

Pete is survived by daughters: Lace Thompson, Zoe (Carl) Wadenah, Renee Geshik, and Crystal Littlewolf; sons, Pete "Jack" Thompson and Nakoa Neeland; sisters: Joan Thompson, Karen Thompson, Barbara Thompson and Bobbi Jo Thompson; brother, Robert Thompson; numerous grandchildren including two he adopted, Jack Littlewolf and Janelle Potter; and best friends: Jeff "Joe Bum" Bevins, Stan Goble, and Ben Bellanger. He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Richie; lifelong partner, Sally Littlewolf; and siblings: Laurel, Carol, Sandy, Cheryl, Elmer "Sonny", Melvin and Alan.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the White Earth Community Center, White Earth, MN.  A Time of Gathering will take place one hour prior.  Inurnment will be in St. Columba Episcopal Cemetery in White Earth.
