Gerald Grove, age 80, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, in Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.

Gerald Grove was born April 3rd, 1928, the son of Harry and Elba (Gulbrandson) Grove in Hillsboro, North Dakota, where he grew up and attended school. As a young man, Gerald entered the Navy and served in the Pacific during the Korean War. On March 28, 1951, Gerald was united in marriage to Hilda Prestegord in Ada, Minnesota. The couple lived in the Twin Valley area for a time before moving to Silver Bay, Minnesota, where he was employed in the Reserve Mining. After his retirement, Gerald and Hilda returned to Twin Valley where they have made their home since. Gerald and Hilda entered the Twin Valley Living Center a few years ago where he lived until the time of his death.

Some of Gerald's favorite past times included play cribbage, card games, being a ham radio operator and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Hilda of Twin Valley, MN; daughters, Gerri (Bruce) Bueng of Valley City, ND, Linda Vigessa of Twin Valley, MN and Sue (Butch) Johnson of Ada, MN; son-in-law, Ray Myers of Ada, MN; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, daughter, Ellie Myers and one grandson, Jeff Johnson.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, May 12, 2008, at 10:00 AM in Twin Valley Living Center Chapel, Twin Valley. Officiating was Pastor Chad Peterson with special music provided by Bob Brevik. Pallbearers were Tammy Lindell, Carri Goutermont, Mike Burke, Todd Burke, Scott Burke, Mitch Johnson, Shelly Gordon, Kim Vigessa, Nicki Brockopp and Melissa Kraft. Military honors were provided by Twin Valley Nesseth-Lien Post #431 of the American Legion.

Interment were in Wild Rice Lutheran Cemetery, rural Twin Valley.
