George Meyer, age 37, of Waubun, MN, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 31, 2019.
George Allen was born in Minneapolis, MN, on May 28, 1981, the son of James Weaver and Teresa Meyer. He spent his early years in Minneapolis and as a teen, his family moved to the Waubun area. George attended school in Mahnomen and graduated from Mahnomen High School. Following high school, he worked off and on in Alaska doing construction for several years. George dated Nicole Cogger and together they were blessed with three children: Lyric, Saige and Brynlee. Over the years, George worked construction and at the Shooting Star Casino. He was currently living with his dad, helping out and keeping busy.
George was an outgoing individual who loved a good time. He was very willing to help anyone and had a great sense of humor, always making people laugh. He was a great brother and was known as the "favorite" uncle. George enjoyed woodworking and was a very talented artist. He loved to draw and even designed the cover of the year book while in high school. Although gone to soon from this life, George will live on in the hearts of many.
George is survived by his children: Lyric, Saige and Brynlee Cogger of Dilworth, MN; mother of his children, Nicole (Nick) Wood; his father, James Weaver of Waubun; three brothers: James "Chuck" (Ann) Meyer of Naytahwaush, MN, Joseph Meyer of Waubun, and Michael Meyer of Minneapolis; six sisters: Evenelle Meyer of Naytahwaush, Linda (Edward) Stone of Mahnomen, Maxine Meyer of Naytahwaush, Lucille Meyer of Mahnomen, Tiffany Welch of Las Vegas, NV, and Maria Rapoport of Forest Lake, MN; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Meyer; brother, Robin; grandfather, James "Iron Legs" Weaver, auntie, Nadine Wade and two nephews.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019, with a wake service at 7:00 p.m at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex, Naytahwaush, MN. Visitation will continue until the time of the Funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019, also at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex.
