Gary Lund, age 55, of Ulen, Minnesota, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, after a brief illness.

Gary Wayne Lund was born November 12, 1952, in Moorhead, Minnesota, the son of Gordon Sr. and Hildur (Johnson) Lund. He was raised in Hitterdal, Minnesota, with his family. Gary was baptized into his Lutheran faith at the Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal. As a child he attended the Hitterdal elementary school and later the Ulen- Hitterdal High School where he excelled in basketball. He graduated from high school with the class of 1972. Shortly after high school Gary was united in marriage to Beverly Hughes. They made their home in Hitterdal and Gary was employed by Sellin Construction where he was a heavy equipment operator in road construction. In the mid 1970's Gary became employed full time at American Crystal in Moorhead. He had continued his employment at American Crystal since that time, most recently as a Process Technician. On April 9, 1998, Gary was married to Gayle Langseth in Moorhead. They have made their home west of Ulen since that time. In addition to working at American Crystal he often raised cattle and more recently he and Gayle had started a vineyard that will produce grapes for the first time this year.

Gary enjoyed spending time at Little Sugar Bush Lake, fishing, hunting and trapping. He was also a talented woodworker and had made a number of cedar chests for his family along with many other wood projects. But most of all Gary liked to spend time with his family.

He is survived by wife, Gayle, Ulen, MN, two daughters Tammy (Ryan) Larson, Ulen and Tanya (Kiet) Nguyen, Hitterdal, MN; one son, Trevor (Ashley) of Lake Park, MN; three step sons, Brady Fuglie and his fiancé, Kayla, Jake Fuglie and Ben Fuglie all of Ulen, MN, two sisters, Karen (Ken) Nelson, Deadwood, South Dakota and Debbie (Ron) Buss, Brooklyn Park, MN; one brother, Gordon "Sonny" (Louise) Jr., Queen City, Texas; his mother and father in-law, Keith and Lorraine Langseth, Glyndon, MN, brothers and sisters in-law, Joy and Wes Green, Ulen, MN and Dan and Debbie Langseth, Glyndon, MN and eight grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence.

Funeral services were held Tuesday June 17, at 11:00am in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen, MN. Pastor James Hulberg was officiate with Carol Lockhart as organist. Pallbearers were Mike Johnson, Mark Johnson, Bruce Johnson, Bob Larson, Donny Wisk and Jeff Olson, Honorary pallbearers are "All of his Co-Workers". Interment was in the West Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen, MN.
