Obituary

Garbo Naccarato, age 95, of Ulen, Minnesota, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.

Garbla (Garbo) M. Polello was born August 19, 1911, the daughter of Biasio and Marietta (Cozza) Polello in Spokane, Washington, where she attended school. As a young woman, Garbo was employed at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane where she worked in the laundry department. On June 8, 1933, Garbo was united in marriage to Sylvio Naccarato in Spokane. For a short time following their marriage, Garbo continued to work at the Davenport Hotel. The couple lived for a time in Priest River, Idaho, before returning to Spokane. In 1997, the couple moved to Ulen. Sylvio died on August 30, 1999. In 2003, Garbo moved into the Agassiz Apartments in Ulen, where she had continued to make her home.

She was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Twin Valley and a past longtime member of St. Patricks Parrish in Spokane where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Women's Alter Society and assisted her sister with cooking at church functions. Garbo enjoyed cooking and will long be remembered for her spaghetti sauce. You could be sure to smell its aroma simmering on her stove very frequently. She also enjoyed spending time crocheting and visiting with friends and family.

Garbo is survived by a sister, Virginia Allen of Spokane, Washington; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sylvio Naccarato, daughter, Delores, son-in-law, Sherman Begg, Jr. and eight brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel, Twin Valley. Visitation will also be one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at 10:30 AM, in St. William Catholic Church, Twin Valley, Minnesota. Officiating will be Fr. Tom Friedl with --- serving as organist. Pallbearers will be Sherman David Begg III, Edmond Begg, Mike Begg. Larry Begg, Jason Begg and Jeremy Begg.

Burial will be in West Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen, Minnesota.
