Frank "Tootie" B. Johnson Jr., 98, rural Ada, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Benedictine Care Community in Ada, after a brief stay.

Tootie was born on July 3, 1922, the son of Frank and Bernice (Benton) Johnson in Wetonka-Brown County, South Dakota. When Tootie was 4 years old, they moved to a farm near Ada where he lived for the rest of his life.

Tootie married Shirley Crump on September 22, 1946. They raised four children on the farm. Shirley and Tootie spent many winters on the Keys in Florida and summers at their Strawberry Lake cabin.

Tootie is survived by his children, Joe of Ada, Bruce (Catherine) of Juneau, AK, Susan (David) Lovas, Cassoday, KS, and Ray "Bub" (Cindy) of Ada; sisters, Wilma "Punky" Ness, of Halstad, MN, and Eva Helland, of Ada; 6 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Tootie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; and brother, Clarence "Tuffy" Johnson.

Funeral : 3:00 PM, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home in Ada, MN, following all of the Minnesota and CDC COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. All must wear a mask to attend.

Visitation: Friday, March 26, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home in Ada.

Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
