Francis Clark, age 76, of Waubun, MN died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND,
Francis Clark was born to Stella (Webster) and Joe Clark on December 1, 1935 in Redby, MN on the Red Lake Reservation. He grew up in the Red Lake area, until moving to Flandreau, where he attended Flandreau Indian School. At age 17, he joined the Army and was stationed in multiple areas, one being Washington, where he met his first wife, Mary Ann SeeLatsee, who gave birth to his first child, Rocco Clark. Shortly after, they divorced, and Francis completed his deployment tour.
Walking along the street in Minneapolis, Francis spotted the woman of his dreams, his soul-mate, Muriel (Patsy) Deegan. They married, and had two children, Alice and Francis "Bee-bop" Clark Jr. About five years into their marriage, Patsy unexpectedly passed away. After Patsy's passing, Francis was devastated by her loss, leaving a permanent hole in his heart. He made it through her death to live a long, fulfilled life; getting to see their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and playing a big part in the lives of many.
Francis spent many years working as a Chemical Dependency Volunteer Driver for White Earth. He met a great deal of people doing his job, always leaving a lasting impression with his good sense of humor and endless stories to tell. He enjoyed his job very much; he liked driving, loved to visit, and lived to help people.
In Francis' spare time he loved teasing and joking, and spending time with family and friends. He is fondly remembered as a man with a heart of gold, so selfless and thoughtful, someone who would place everyone else's needs before his own, and who was intensely dedicated to the people he cared about.
Francis is survived by his children: Rocco (Melanie) Clark, Francis "Bee-bop" (Debbie Kingbird) Clark Jr., Alice Clark; Grandchildren: Rocco Clark Jr., Valient Clark, Joshua Clark, Curtis Belland, Jonathan Belland, Keith Clark, Mena de la Paz, Callie Clark; 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Muriel; brother, Oliver Clark; and many friends and relatives.
