Fern M. Pederson, age 101, of Warroad, MN, formerly Mahnomen, MN, died on Monday, August 22, 2016, at the Warroad Senior Living Center in Warroad, MN.

Fern Myrtle was born November 22, 1914 to Ervin and Minnie (Neumann) Hoffmann, in Winsted, MN. Fern's family moved to the Mahnomen area in the fall of 1919. She attended country school district #7 for 8 years and graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1932. On March 19, 1934, Fern was united in marriage to Bennie Pederson and their union was blessed with four children.

Fern is survived by her son, David (Avonne) of Williston and her daughter, Marlene (William) Lewis of Warroad; son-in-law, Floyd Hanson of Gary, MN and daughter-in-law, Carole Pederson of Pine City, MN; six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a wonderful extended family.

Fern was preceded in death by Bennie in 1990, her husband of 56 years; daughter, Mrytle in 2004 and son, Loren in 2006; brothers, Donivan and Eldon; sister, Muriel Jappe; two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law , a stillborn son and a great great grandson Anias Steen.

In lieu of flowers and memorials for Fern can be made to the American Cancer Association, American Arthritis Association or American Diabetes Association.

Funeral services was held on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 10:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Mahnomen. Visitation was held on Friday, September 2, 2016, from 5 - 7 pm at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen. Interment took place at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Mahnomen.
