Faye Peterson, 81, Ada, Minnesota, died Monday, November 10, 2014, after a brief illness with her family by her side, at Essentia Health, Fargo.
Faye Lavone was born in Ada on September 30, 1933, the daughter of Harold and Valborg (Ramstad) Lohmeier. She was baptized and confirmed at First (Grace) Lutheran Church in Ada and graduated from Ada High School. She worked in the Ada Nursing Home for a few years and was united in marriage to James Peterson on November 28, 1952, in Hendrum, MN.
They made their home near Ada where they raised their family. Faye helped on the farm before starting her catering business in the 1960's. She started Faye's Café in 1984 and operated it until 1997 following the Ada flood. She enjoyed traveling to the southwest states with family and having dinner with her friends at the Galaxy Supper Club.
Faye is survived by her daughters, Judy and Cindy of Ada: son, Daniel (Mary) Peterson, Perham, MN, a brother, Dean (Lynda) Lohmeier, Fargo, ND; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy (Chris) Peterson, Angel (Dave) Dockendorf, Jacob (Bethany) Peterson, and Danielle Peterson; 6 great grandchildren, Brennan, Drew, and Ayden Peterson, Grace, Cooper, and Liam Dockendorf; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James.
Funeral: 11:00AM, Friday November 14, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.
Visitation: Thursday, November 13th, from 5PM to 7PM at Fredrikson Funeral Home.
Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
