Faith L. Burnette, age 49 of Naytahwaush, MN, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in her home.
Faith was born September 30, 1959 in White Earth, MN, to Thelma (Wadena) and Floyd Coleman. She grew up around and near the White Earth Reservation. Faith attended school in Mahnomen, MN, where she graduated. In 1981, she then moved to Minneapolis, MN, until 1995 when she moved back to Naytahwaush, where she has resided since.
The last year of Faith's life was spent with the Goodwin Family, whom she loved and was very proud to be a part of their family. She enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends, playing card games and drinking lots of coffee. Faith's pride and joy were her 10 grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and watching them grow. We can't forget about her casino man (Mr. Cashman), as she enjoyed him anytime she could. Faith will be missed deeply and although she may be gone, she will live on in each and every one of us.
Faith is survived by five children: daughter, Chasity (Kenneth "Bunk" Taylor III) Burnette, of Naytahwaush, sons: Chad (Jolene Kier) Burnette, Sr., of Naytahwaush, Cory (Heidi Goodwin) Burnette, Sr., of Mahnomen, MN, Craig Burnette, Sr. also of Naytahwaush, and Robert Hatfield, of Minneapolis, MN; 10 grandchildren; her mother and step-father, Thelma and Ronald Coleman, of Naytahwaush; one sister, Sherlene Wakemup; three brothers: David (Beth) Burnette, Floyd Burnette and Jeffery Coleman, all of Naytahwaush; several nieces and nephews, all who she loved dearly.
Faith is preceded in death by her father, Floyd Coleman, Sr.; sister, Denise; a brother, Delmer; and a nephew, Adam "Ice" Burnette.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 11 am at the Sports Complex in Naytahwaush, MN. Visitation will begin Monday at 5 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm and go until the time of the service all at the Sports Complex. Services will be led by Pastor Tim Brown. Music will be provided by Pastor Tim and Tammy Brown and the Eagle Spirit Drum. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Auginaush, Michael "Bud" Keezer, Charlie Littlewolf, Sonny Wadena, Andrew "AJ" Goodwin, and Irah Goodwin. Honorary pallbearers will include Steven "Jodo" Goodwin, Norm Van Pelt, Wayne Goodwin, Boon Wadena, Marcus St. Clair, Don Goodwin and Family and all Faith's nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment will be in the Free Gospel Alliance Cemetery in Naytahwaush.
