Boswell
Jun 18, 1959 — Dec 11, 2021
Waubun
Everyl "Dolly" Louise Boswell, 62 years young, began her journey home on December 11, 2021, peacefully at her home in Waubun, MN.
Dolly was born on June 18, 1959, in Pine Point, MN, to Dennis Shady and Evelyn Marie (Brown) French. She grew up in Ponsford and Park Rapids, MN. Dolly graduated from Park Rapids High School and studied business at the White Earth Tribal Community College. She worked as a Blackjack Dealer and Table Games Trainer at the Shooting Star Casino for many years.
Dolly enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, cooking, watching her soaps, and making memories with her friends, family, and especially her grandkids. She was truly one of a kind. Her gentle spirit was comforting, her smile was contagious, and she had a generous heart. Dolly made you feel loved, welcomed, protected, and never hesitated to help in any way. She was diagnosed with kidney disease, but between the various trips to the hospital, she was busy living life. Dolly spent much of her time caring for and being with her family, making every effort to be present for all the big moments. She was greatly loved and admired for her strength and kindness by everyone who knew her. Dolly will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Dolly is survived by her sons, Melvin "Joe" Brown, and Lucas "Luke" Basswood; daughters, Evelyn "Puff" Boswell, and Brittany "Annie" Basswood; brother, Robert French; her granddaughters: Fiona Fairbanks, Breanna Fairbanks, Zendaya Hill, and Ariella Hill; grandson, Silas Hill; great-grandson, Phillip "Nisswe" Jones III; nieces: Jodi and Jamie Chesley, Jennifer French; Sonja, Sylvia, and Shannon Budde; nephew, Maxwell French; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Dennis Shady; Mother, Evelyn Marie (Brown) French; sister, Mari "Joker" French; brother-in-law, Carl Budde; aunt/second mother, Emily "Pork" Fairbanks; special friend, Kenneth "Spaghetti" Basswood; and many other beloved family members and friends.
