Evalyn Reiersgord, age 87, of Kuna, Idaho, formerly Ulen, Minnesota, died Friday, May 02, 2008, in Sunbridge Nursing Home, Nampa, Idaho.

Evalyn Joyce Brown was born October 9, 1920, in Hawley, Minnesota. She was the youngest of five children born to Oscar and Tillie (Norby) Brown. As a youngster, Evalyn moved with her family to Ulen where she attended school, graduating with the class of 1938. As a senior at Ulen High, Evalyn enjoyed participating in basketball and the competition of playing area towns.

On April 23, 1940, Evalyn was united in marriage to Milton Reiersgord in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Ulen before moving to Seattle, Washington, living there for two years. They then returned to Ulen where they raised their three children. In 1996, Milton and Evalyn moved to Moorhead, Minnesota. Milton died on April 3, 1999. In the fall of 2000, Evalyn moved Jackpot, Nevada. In 2006, she moved to Kuna, Idaho, where she lived until the time of her death.

She was a long-time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she enjoyed being a member of the church choir for many years. Some of her favorite past times included knitting, crocheting, singing and doing various crafts. She especially treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Evalyn is survived by a daughter, Beth Winans of Jackpot, Nevada; sons, Val Reiersgord of Fargo, North Dakota and Lynn (Jean) of Jackpot, Nevada; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and three sisters.
