Eva Mae Helland, age 97, of Ada, MN, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025 at Benedictine Care Community in Ada.

Eva was born on March 20, 1928, on the family farm in rural Ada, Minnesota, to Frank and Bernice (Benton) Johnson.

In 1952 Eva was united in marriage to Donald Helland at the home of Dwain and Wilma (Punky) Ness. Throughout their marriage, Eva and Donald made their home in several communities - beginning in Hendrum then to Floyd Lake after Donald's retirement in 1977, later moving to Dilworth, and in 2013 returning to Ada to make their residence in Mission Court.

She was a devoted homemaker and a loving mother to her children, Diane and Roger.

Eva will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Diane (Peter Olson), San Diego, CA; grandson, Cory Helland, Red Lake Falls, MN; granddaughters, Kalyn Olson Tam of San Francisco, CA, and Taryn Olson Hill of Bend, OR; sister, Wilma (Punky) Ness; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sr. and Bernice; husband, Donald; son, Roger; brothers, Tuffy (Clarence) Johnson, and Tootie (Frank) Johnson; brother-in-law, Dwain Ness; and sisters-in-law, Bernice, Fran, Margaret, Irene, and Lucille, and Shirley Johnson.

Graveside Service: 11:30 AM, Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
