Eunice Marion Shirley was born September 1, 1929, the daughter of Arthur and Mable (Low) Shirley in Dakota County, MN. She was baptized in Highview Christiania in Dakota County, MN and confirmed her faith while living in Seattle, WA. Eunice attended Twin Valley High School, graduating with the class of 1947. On February 16, 1949, Eunice was united in marriage to Vernon Strommen in the Zion Lutheran parsonage in Twin Valley by Pastor A.C. Odden. The couple spent their married life on a farm in the Twin Valley area. In the later years, she had made her home in Twin Valley until recently residing at Benedictine Care Community in Ada.

Eunice was a very talented and creative person when it came to sewing and making crafts. She spent countless hours meticulously sewing Barbie doll clothes as well as making unique greeting cards for special occasions. Over the years, she would sell her items at the local craft fairs. Eunice prided herself on being a stay-at-home mom. She also enjoyed the years she served as a local 4-H leader. When she became a grandmother, Eunice treasured the time she got to spend with her grandchildren.

Eunice is survived by a son, Verlyn (Nanette) Strommen of Dunn Center, ND; a brother, Donald Huseby of Milton, FL; a sister-in-law, Pat Huseby of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren; Christopher, Amanda, Elizabeth and Vance and six great-grandchildren.
