Eunice Cary, age 90, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Twin Valley, MN, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN.

Eunice Carolyn Fevig was born to Adolph and Ruth (Amundson) Fevig on April 4, 1928 in Hagen Township near Ulen, MN. She attended Sunnyside Country School near their farm and graduated from the Ulen High School in 1946. She furthered her education at North Dakota Agricultural College (now known as NDSU) earning a bachelor's degree in 1951. Holding a major in Home Economics and a minor in Art, she began her teaching career in Gary, MN where she taught for nine years. Eunice was united in marriage to Donald Cary on July 14, 1956 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Ulen, MN. They made their home in Twin Valley, MN where Eunice took time off from teaching to raise their son, Dale. She went back to teaching at the Plummer School from 1966 through 1972. Many of those years were spent commuting with their young son during the work week, and spending weekends as a family with Don back home in Twin Valley. Over several summers she completed her major in Art at Moorhead State University. She was offered an art teaching position at the Twin Valley School where she continued her career until retirement in 1981. Following her brother's death in 1973, Eunice and Donald purchased her family's resort on Tulaby Lake. They owned and operated Evergreen Resort for many years with Eunice being the primary caretaker. She loved lake life and made many wonderful friends there. The couple moved to Moorhead in the middle 1990's. After Don's death in 2000, Eunice continued to make her home in Moorhead.

Her creative abilities showed through in her various hobbies. Eunice loved gardening in which she was very proud of her more than 500 tulips that she had at one point. She also enjoyed being a seamstress and made most of her own clothes she wore for teaching. She won several ribbons for sketches, sculptures, and a Blue Ribbon for a painting. She was also an accomplished bowler in both league and tournaments.

Eunice was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International - Chi Chapter for more than 41 years. She served on numerous committees and held the office of President from 1988-1990. In 1991, she was awarded the Woman of Achievement by the Minnesota State Chapter. Her loving heart and gentle soul will be remembered by all who knew her.

Eunice is survived by her son, Dale (Kay) Cary of Moorhead, MN; three granddaughters: Alyssa Cary, Briana (Scott) Petry, and Jamie (Tyler) Baumann all of Moorhead; and two great grandsons, Casyn Rundle and Axel Petry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; two brothers, Alton and Gisle; a sister, Joan; and an infant son.
