Eugene I. Wilkinson, Fertile, MN, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Eugene Ivan Wilkinson was born on March 2, 1934 to Ivan and Millicent (Scott) Wilkinson in Fertile, MN. Eugene attended Fertile Public School until the 8th grade when he began working full time on the family farm.

Eugene was united in marriage to Janice Pederson in Detroit, Michigan in 1953. In the spring of 1957, they moved back to Fertile and raised their family. Eugene enjoyed farming and worked for various farmers over the years along with his custom combining. In the 1960's, he worked for the Fertile Hatchery, and later for Hagen Honey and Leo & Mark Lindberg. His many talents were self-taught. Eugene could do electrical work and plumbing, and he was very mechanical. He was diligent in any project he completed, or any repairs that needed to be made. He could always be found working on tractors and farm equipment. Eugene hobbie farmed until 1980, and later worked for Short Farms until 1996 when he retired.

Eugene is survived by his sons, Rick (Mary) Wilkinson, Fertile, MN, and John Wilkinson, Crookston, MN; grandchildren, Adam (Cathy), Tabitha (Paul) Carter, Heath, Holly (Josh) Bouvette, Kara (Tony), and Austin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; daughters, Linda and Carolyn; and granddaughters, Sherry, Lori, and DeeDee.

Memorial Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, June 30, 2023 at Erikson-Vik-Ganje Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the memorial service at the funeral home.

Inurnment: Fairview Cemetery, Beltrami, MN.
