Elsie Knutson, age 77, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.

Elsie R. Knutson was born February 4, 1933, the daughter of Andrew and Oline (Holte) Knutson in Twin Valley, Minnesota where she was raised and attended school. As a young woman, Elsie was employed in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Houston, Texas. She later moved to Moorhead, Minnesota and worked at the Eventide Nursing Home. In the early 1950's, Elsie moved back to Twin Valley. She lived with her mother for many years while being employed at the Twin Valley Living Center as a nurse's aide. Elsie later made her home at the Lincoln Terrace Apartments for a time before moving into the Twin Valley Living Center in 2004, where she resided until the time of her death.

Elsie's favorite past times included doing crafts, watching movies and television.
Over the years, Elsie truly enjoyed the companionship of her cats and many birds.

Elsie is survived by two brothers, Lloyd (Eileen) Knutson of Lake Geneva, WI and Harry Knutson of Rockville, MD; five nephews and eight nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1:30 PM in the Twin Valley Living Center Chapel, Twin Valley. Officiating was Marilou Bade, Chaplain, with Ruth Lerud serving as organist and Julie Thornton serving as vocalist.

Inurnment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley.
