Ella Miller, age 85, of Ada, Minnesota, formerly Gary, Minnesota, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006, in Bridges Care Community, Ada.

Ella Tow was born December 17, 1920, the daughter of Andrew and Ethel (Kuderling) Tow in Woodworth, North Dakota. Ella was born and raised in North Dakota, however, she attended Gary High School while living with her aunt and uncle, Irve and Gena Kuderling. Ella graduated from Gary High School with the class of 1939. On September 28, 1940, Ella was united in marriage to Frank Miller at the St. Petri Lutheran church, rural Gary. The couple made their home in Iowa for a short time before returning to the Gary community where they worked on area farms until purchasing their own farm. In the late 1950's they purchased the Hartz Store (Miller's Market) in Gary. They operated the store until 1965 when they sold it. After Franks' death in 1981, Ella began working for Armand and Peggy Andersen in the hardware store in Twin Valley and worked there until her retirement. She had continued to make her home on the farm southeast of Gary until 1999, when she moved into the Nursing Home in Fertile. In 2001, she moved to Bridges Care Community in Ada where she had made her home since.

Ella was a member of Gary Lutheran Church and in the past was active in Ladies Aide as well as being a trustee on the church council. She enjoyed traveling, taking bus trips, bowling, music, dancing, bingo, cards, quilting, crafts, cooking and reading. She especially treasured the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.

Ella is survived by a daughter, Diana (Winfred "Punky" ) Bauer of Vale, SD; two sons, Clark of Riverside , CA and Errol "Buz" (Deb) of Gary, MN; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Lawrence.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 21, at 10:30 AM in Gary Lutheran Church, Gary. Visitation will be Friday, October 20th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM in the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley. Visitation will also be one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Pastor Jeff McCracken will officiate. Alden Anderson will be the organist with Monica Winter as solist. The pallbearers are Roger Tow, Mark Pearson, Fred Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Andy Johnson, and Tim Johnson.

Interment will be in Gary Lutheran Cemetery, Gary, MN.
