Ella Mae Lee, 95, of Mason City, Iowa (formally of Ada, Minnesota) passed away peacefully Monday October 17, 2011, at a Mason City nursing home, with family by her side.
Ella was born May 7, 1916 to George & Anna (Myers) Habben in Willmar, MN. She moved with her family to Ada, MN, where they settled on a farm and later she attended Felton (MN) High School. On January 2, 1939 Ella married Allen C. Lee in Sisseton, SD. Over the years Ella was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Ada. She was employed at various restaurants for 15 years as a waitress. Ella enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking (especially bread, donuts and lefse) playing cards, canning her garden vegetables and family time.
Ella is survived by daughter Diane (Mel) Narum, Duluth, MN, sons: Jerry (Cindy) Lee, Mandan, ND, Larry (Sandi) Lee & DeWayne Lee, both of Mason City, Iowa,
11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, brother Les (Janet) Habben, Anoka, MN, sister Lillian Aanenson, Halstad, MN, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Allen, infant great granddaughter, three sisters: Doris Syrstad, Goldie Smith, and Anna Bennefeld, four brothers: Albert, Pete, George and Ben.
Funeral Service: 11:00 Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ada.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Burial: Ada City Cemetery, Ada, MN.
