Watch Eleanor's Memorial Mass

Eleanor Ann Boe, age 80, of Twin Valley, MN, died Friday, September 3, 2021, in her home in Twin Valley.

Eleanor Ann was born in Minneapolis, MN, on November 15, 1940, to Shikry and Nettie (Elias) Chelte. She was the 7 ^th to be born out of 9 children. She grew up in Minneapolis and attended Marcy Elementary and Marshall University finishing her school in 1956. After her father passed away, the family moved to northeast Minneapolis where Eleanor began working for Old Dutch Foods. In 1959, Eleanor welcomed her daughter, Kimberly.  In 1963, she met Louie Boe Sr through a friend at work. The couple were married December 4, 1964. With Louie bringing daughter, Tammy and son, Louie Jr. from a previous marriage, the family of 5 made their home in Minneapolis before their youngest son, Tim, was born in 1966. The family moved to Hitterdal, MN, for a short time before purchasing their forever home in the country north of Flom, MN. In 1982, Eleanor became employed with the Twin Valley Living Center, becoming a certified nurses assistant. After Louie's death in 1998, she continued to live in the family home until 2012 when she moved into Valley Pines Apartments in Twin Valley, MN. Eleanor's greatest joys in life was her family and friends and caring for her patients at the living center. She spent 32 years caring for others at Twin Valley Living.

After retirement, Eleanor remained active in her church, volunteered for meals on wheels, and helping neighbors in need. She loved all the residents she cared for at the Twin Valley Living Center and had a passionate work ethic. Eleanor enjoyed cooking and baking for and with her church, playing cards, bingo, volunteering, and going to the casino. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, coworkers and all who knew her.

Eleanor is survived by her son, Tim (Crystal) Boe of Twin Valley; daughter, Kimberly (Larry) Kjono of Detroit Lakes, MN; stepchildren, Louie Boe Jr. of Gary, MN, and Tammy (Wes) Schmoll of Midland, TX; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Gronsberg of Richmond, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louie; parents, Shikry and Nettie; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters. Blessed be the memory of Eleanor Boe.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. William Catholic Church, Twin Valley. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.

Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, and CDC guidelines, social distancing will be practiced.
