Eileen Corbett, 88, Fertile, MN, formerly of Crookston, MN, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, in Fertile.

Eileen was born on January 6, 1930, to Francis and LaVerne Child, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She grew in Cincinnati and attended the University of Cincinnati. She graduated with a degree in teaching in 1954.

Eileen was united in marriage to Cecil Corbett on November 12, 1967. They were married for 45 years before Cecil's passing. Eileen taught elementary school for 25 years, grades 5-8 in Phoenix, Arizona. She also worked for the Crookston Library for 15 years.

Eileen was an avid reader, thanks to her grandfather, who taught her how to read when she was 3 when he got tired of reading the funnies to her. She had an interest in lighthouses, owls and animals in general. Eileen said, "The rest of my life is up to the Lord. I'm glad God's wisdom guides my path. He planned each step I take. In faith I follow for I know he maketh no mistake."
