Edwin
Sullivan
Jan 31, 1932 — May 23, 2026
Ulen
Edwin "Eddie" Sullivan, age 94, of Ulen, MN, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen.
Edwin William Sullivan was born on January 31, 1932, in Dale, MN, to Jerry and Alice (Brown) Sullivan. He was the third oldest of thirteen children. From a young age, Eddie developed the strong work ethic that would define his life, helping on the family farm by milking cows, caring for livestock, and putting up hay. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping gophers. As a young man, he worked for a local potato farmer and earned his GED in 1950.
Later that year, Eddie entered the United States Army, where he proudly served as a chauffeur for a General until receiving his honorable discharge in 1953. After returning home, he spent a short time in Seattle, WA, working at Boeing helping construct B-52 bombers, and later worked as a welder for Standard Oil Pipeline.
While attending a dance at a local hall, Eddie met the love of his life, Kathleen Corcoran. After a few dances and many meaningful conversations, Eddie knew she was the one. The couple was married on July 7, 1956, at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Ogema, MN, where they raised their family in the Catholic faith. Together they built a life on a farm southeast of Ulen, where they raised their five sons. Their family began with the surprise arrival of identical twins, Mark and Mike, followed by the miraculous blessing of identical triplets, Perry, Paul, and Pat.
Eddie continued farming throughout his life while also driving milk truck and school bus routes, working at the Standard Station, and measuring farmers' fields for the ASC office during the summer months. Eddie had a knack for fixing or making just about anything from farm equipment to the boat motor to jewelry for Kathleen. He was never one to sit still and believed in the value of hard work and providing for his family.
Over the years, Eddie and Kathleen made countless memories camping with friends and family in their converted school bus. The annual Sullivan Reunion was a highlight every summer, where they enjoyed fish fries and Eddie's famous seasoned pretzels. For 28 years, they spent their winters in Apache Junction, AZ, where they formed many lasting friendships at their RV park. Eddie and Kathleen also enjoyed traveling together, visiting Hawaii and destinations across the United States. No matter where life took him, Eddie's favorite place was always home, surrounded by family.
In 2020, Eddie and Kathleen moved to Viking Manor. Kathleen passed away in 2024. Eddie will be remembered for his steady work ethic, quiet devotion to his family and God, and the simple, meaningful life he built alongside those he loved.
Eddie is survived by five sons, Mark of Fargo, Michael (Kelee) of Ulen, Perry (Jodi) of Bismarck, ND, Paul (Tiffany) of Ulen, and Patrick (Cindy) of Cave Creek, AZ; 13 grandchildren: and 15 great-grandchildren; siblings: Nora, Mary, Linda, Susan, and Bert; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathleen; and siblings: Eugene, Neil, Pat, Daniel, Tommy, Rodger, and Roscelia.
