C. Edward Buschette, 76, of Mahnomen, MN, died Friday, February 01, 2008 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Christopher Edward Buschette was born February 19, 1931 on the farm west of Mahnomen, the son of Peter and Gertrude (Urvig) Buschette. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Mahnomen, and attended grade school at St. Michael's Catholic School. As a young man, Ed helped his father on the home farm, which he later took over. On September 10, 1966 Ed was united in marriage to Carol Lemna at Enderlin, North Dakota. They made their home on the farm where they operated it as a dairy and grain farm for the next 30 plus years. After his retirement in the early 1990?s, they continued to make their home on the farm.

In earlier years, Ed enjoyed dancing, playing cards and Polka music. He also had great pride in the appearance of his farm and always kept everything neat and clean.
Ed was a lifetime member of St. Michael?s Catholic Church where he served on the finance council for many years. He was also a long time active member of the Knights of Columbus Mahnomen Council #2573. Ed served as an assessor for four area townships and was also the residential assessor for City of Mahnomen.

Ed is survived by his wife, Carol, Mahnomen; three daughters: Patty (Shawn) Paul, Mora, MN, Lynn Buschette, Hawley, MN and Jennifer (Randy) Hanson, Watertown, SD; two sons, Mike, Moorhead, MN and Matthew, Mahnomen; five grandchildren; Tim and Kirsti Paul, Melissa, Stacy and Christopher Buschette; two sisters, Margaret (Norbert) Kochmann and Jeanette (Emmett) Kahlbaugh all of Mahnomen.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
