Edna Kvamme, age 99, of Twin Valley, MN, died Monday, January 8, 2018, at the Twin Valley Living Center. Edna Roselle Bjorge was born on August 2, 1918, to Frank and Mathilda (Engen) Bjorge in rural Gary, MN. After attending school in Gary through the eighth grade, she went to work as a waitress. It was during this time, that she met and fell in love with Armond Kvamme. The couple was married in 1952 in Mahnomen, MN. They began their family in Twin Valley and were blessed with two sons, Craig and Curtis. Edna and Armond moved to Saint Cloud, MN, in 1960, where they continued to live for 30 plus years. Edna worked as an infant daycare provider for the Sticha family caring for Jonathon and Jilleen. The couple returned to Twin Valley in 1992, where they continued to enjoy their retirement years. Edna provided care for Armond in their home during his battle with cancer which allowed him to remain in his home until his passing in 2001. In 2013, Edna began making her home at the Twin Valley Living Center. Spending time at Twin Lakes was one of Edna's favorite pastimes. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, traveling, caring for others, and reading. As empty nesters, Edna and Armond enjoyed taking long trips and vacations well into their retirement. Edna was an active member in church groups at both Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud and Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley. She is survived by her two sons, Craig Kvamme of Bemidji, MN, and Curtis Kvamme of Rice, MN; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, the Sticha family. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Floyd and Byron Bjorge; and two sisters, Irene Gilbertson and Arla McFarlin. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Anderson Family Funeral Home, Twin Valley. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Memorials to the Twin Valley Living Center or your local Hospice are preferred.
