Edith Nefzger, age 71, of Bejou, MN, died Saturday, August 10, 2019, at her home.

Edith LaFriniere, the daughter of Floyd and Gertrude (Spicer) LaFrinere, was born March 2, 1948, in Mahnomen, MN.  She grew up in the Roy Lake area, attended School in Mahnomen, and later obtained her GED. In 1979, Edith married Ron Nefzger, and the couple made their home in Bejou, MN. She cherished family time and they were blessed with six children: Wesley, Bernadette, Neomonie, Danny, T.J., and Angel.  Over the years, Edith also welcomed many foster children into her home. After raising her family, she went to work at the Shooting Star Casino as a blackjack dealer until retirement, due to health reasons.  In her spare time, Edith enjoyed baking, beading, crocheting, remodeling her home and spending time with family and friends. Edith will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Edith is survived by her husband, Ron of Bejou, MN; three sons: Wesley LaFriniere also of Bejou, Danny Nefzger of South Dakota, and T.J. Nefzger of Moorhead, MN; three daughters: Bernadette Spahr of Sacramento, CA, Neomonie LaFriniere of Mahnomen, MN, and Angel Nefzger of Winger, MN; grandchildren: Sianna Spahr, Danielle Aliason, Dakota Moose, Taylor LaFriniere, Trista LaFriniere, Naomi LaFriniere, Dalton Benson, Raven Jensen, and Aurora Prior;  great-grandchildren, Aaliyah LaFriniere, Abella LaFriniere; and soon to be great- granddaughter, Lily Ann; brother, Floyd LaFriniere of Roy Lake, MN; as well as many niece, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Gertrude LaFriniere; grandparents; brothers: John LaFriniere, Joseph LaFriniere and Francis LaFriniere; sisters, Florence LaFriniere, Cecelia LaFriniere, Eileen LaFriniere and Mary Ellen LaFriniere; and several aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held from 12:00pm until 3:00pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex in Naytahwaush, MN, with a potluck to follow.
