Edith M. Johnson, 94, Ada, MN, Passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Bridges Care Community, Ada, MN.
Edith was born December 10, 1918, in Roscoe, MN, the daughter of John and Ann Weis. She attended high School in Little Falls, MN (St. Francis), followed by secretarial school. She married J.U."Bud" Johnson on April 28, 1943, in St. Cloud, MN. Edith was a homemaker until her children were grown and then worked at several stores in Ada, including the Ben Franklin Store. Bud died in 1987, and she remained on the homestead farm until almost two years ago.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Johnson, Roseville, CA, Elaine Johnson, Ada, MN, Ruth Anderson, So.Beloit, IL, Don Johnson, Ada, MN, Anne Jones, Anoka, MN, Carla Drath, Eugene, OR, sisters-in-law Mary Weis and Mae Weis, nineteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Weis, husband J.U."Bud" Johnson, and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Monday, January 28, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ada, MN.
Visitation: Sunday, from 5:00-7:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30pm at the church.
Burial: Scandinavia Cemetery, rural Ada, MN.
