Dudley Broers, age 88, of Mahnomen, MN, died on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at his home.

Dudley Allan was born November 20, 1936, at home in Waukon Township, rural Gary, MN. He was one of 15 children born to Henry and Kate (Reiners) Broers.  He grew up on the farm and attended Gary Public School.  Following his schooling, Dudley helped on the family farm then took a job on the Iron Range from 1955-1960.  On January 21, 1960, Dudley entered the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge on February 15, 1962.  After his discharge, he returned home and began working for Winter Truck Line until 1965.  On April 3, 1964, Dudley was united in marriage to Janice Steckley in Mahnomen.  To this union two sons were born, Gary and Kevin.  Dudley was employed by Twin City Freight in St. Paul, MN, from 1965 until 1973 as a truck driver.  He then became self employed until his retirement in 1996.  Janice died in November of 2020 and Dudley remained in their home.

He enjoyed being outdoors and camping, fishing, hunting, four wheeling and snowmobiling.

Dudley is survived by two sons, Gary of Thief River Falls, MN, and Kevin of Brooklyn Center; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, Janice, he was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Frank, Harry, Walter, George and Leo; and seven sisters: Katheryn, Dorothy, Evelyn, Helen, Delores, Beverly, Verie, Marie, and Agnes.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Mahnomen.
