Duane "Dewey" Moran, age 45, passed away suddenly on February 5, 2024, at his home near Beaulieu, MN.

Duane Dale, lovingly known as Dewey, was born on October 16, 1978, to Dale and Lenore (Greene) Moran, in Detroit Lakes, MN.  He grew up in Detroit Lakes and attended school there.  Over the years, Dewey worked various jobs in the area.  He spent most of his time working in sales and construction.  He married Dana Austin, and they were blessed with two sons.  They welcomed other family members into their home and Dewey always loved them as his own.  The couple later divorced and several years ago, Dewey moved to Beaulieu to be near his mother.

Dewey was lighthearted, sociable, and loved to laugh. He was a jokester and brought smiles to any gathering. He had an adventurous spirit and didn't mind taking risks.  He loved to gamble, play poker, and shake dice.  He also spent many hours working on cars and fishing.  Dewey was always willing to help others in need and had many close friends.

Dewey is survived by his mother, Lenore (Greene) Moran; father, Dale Moran; sons, Tyler Moran and Zachary Moran; daughter, Isabelle Austin; brothers, Dean Villebrun and Dale Villebrun; and uncles: Gorman Greene, John (Corrine) Bucholz, and Rodney Greene.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Darci Moran; his grandparents; uncles, Berman Greene and Helmer Greene Jr.; aunts: Thelma Beaupre, Lila Holm, and Judy Greene; and other extended family members.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Beaulieu, MN.
