Duane Kier, age 72, of White Earth, MN, died on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Duane Keith Kier was born July 29, 1950, in White Earth, MN, the son of John and Margaret (Keezer) Kier.  Growing up, he attended school in White Earth and Minneapolis, MN.  After his schooling, he spent the majority of his life in the Twin Cities metro where he worked as a carpenter and electrician.  In 2001, Duane moved to the Cass Lake area to be closer to family.  The past couple of years he has made his home in White Earth.

Duane enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and going to pow wows.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and showering them with gifts.  In addition to time with family, Duane also loved going to the casino and socializing with friends while enjoying a cold drink.

Duane is survived by his children: Diana White, Brian White and Corey Jones; grandchildren: Andre, Joshua, Dwayne, Michael, Deanna, Breana, Desirae, Brandon, Heather, Brian Jr., Kiara, Taylor, Jayden, Corey Jr., Christopher, Evangeline, Miigwan, Angel, and Cora; and many great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Kier and Anna Dean Houle; significant other, Donna Congar and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Jessica and Dawn; two sons, Duane and Preston; two sisters, Roberta and Ruth; and three brothers: Kiron, Ole, and Wally.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the White Earth Community Center, White Earth, MN, with a Ceremony being held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue until the time of the Funeral at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 13, 2023, all at the White Earth Community Center.
