Douglas Neisen, age 53, of Farmington, MN, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013. His family and friends new of his long battle with depression, which ultimately took his life. He is now finally at peace with God, and many others, in heaven.

The happiest years of Doug's life were spent at Coates Corner, the store he owned and managed. While there, he formed many friendships, and loved serving his daily customers. His soft heart also extended to animals.

Doug was a skilled carpenter, a gift his dad taught him from childhood. His craftsmanship was meticulous, and always had to be "just right". He took pride in his 100 year-old farmhouse, which he had transformed into a beautiful home.

Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents; Peter and Rose Neisen, and Alois and Katherine Schramel, and nephews; Michael and Matthew Neisen.

Doug will be sadly missed by his parents Elroy and Irene Neisen, brothers: Stephen (Karen) Neisen, Paul (Renee) Neisen, Dennis (Coral) Neisen, Brian (Teresa) Neisen, sister, Sharie (Jim) Baszuro, nieces and nephews: Adam, Amanda, Eric, Melissa, Kristen, Rachel, Thomas and Jack Neisen, Christopher, Nathan and Jessica Baszuro.

Doug's family requests that all memorials be given to the Humane Society of your choosing.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen, MN.

Visitation was held from 9-10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Interment was held at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
