Obituary

Doris Mock, age 86, of Ulen, Minnesota, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, in Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen.

Doris May Mock was born September 4, 1920, the daughter of George and Olive (Fowler) Spotswood near Cavalier, North Dakota. As a young child, Doris moved with her family to the Los Angeles, California area where she was raised. Doris graduated from Bonita High School in San Dimas, California, with the class of 1936. She continued to live in the Los Angeles area until her marriage to Donald Mock in 1945. Doris enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her son, Dennis. She later was employed by Sears and Roebuck as an accountant and auditor. Doris retired in the late 1970's, then moving to San Francisco, California. In 1999 Doris moved to Ulen, where she had made her home in the Viking Manor Nursing Home since December of that year.

Doris enjoyed spending time crocheting and knitting as well as being a world traveler.

Doris is survived by a son, Dennis Mock of Ulen, MN; two grandsons, Jason and Christopher and a brother, Bill (Nancy) Spotswood of LaVerne, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 16, 2007, at 1:30 PM in Viking Manor Nursing Home Chapel, Ulen. Visitation will be one hour before services at Viking Manor Nursing Home on Monday. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff McCracken with Carol Lockhart serving as organist. Pallbearers will be Larry Freisen, Judy Wolf, Craig Borchardt and Jim Kjos. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her friends at the Viking Manor Nursing Home.

Burial will be in North Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen, Minnesota.
