Obituary

Doris Kremer, age 87, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, December 8, 2014, in Eventide Nursing Home, Moorhead.

Doris was born in Columbus, KS, to Clyde and Mary (Crowder) Cool. She attended country school through eighth grade and then went on to graduate from Cherokee County Community High School, in Columbus, KS.

As a young woman she worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She later did the same work for Hingten-Karst Electric of Fergus Falls, MN and East Otter Tail County Community Action in New York Mills, MN.

She loved her six grandchildren, her pets and the mountains of Colorado. She was a die-hard Razorback football fan and loved a good baseball game. She coached her sons' Little League teams—one of the first women to do so.

Her cooking was the stuff of legend and it reflected the many places she had lived. Southern fried chicken, Texas chili, roast beef and Midwestern hot dishes were just some of the meals she enjoyed preparing. Even though she wasn't Scandinavian, she made dozens of rosettes and krumkake every Christmas.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Kremer and her husband, Bruce Berg of Thornton, CO and two sons, Mark and his wife, Susan of Bryan, TX and Douglas and his wife, Trinidee of League City, TX. She also leaves 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Dale Cool and a niece, Sue Cool.

Memorial Services were held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. Officiating was Fr. Larry Delaney with Reta Stein serving as organist. Honorary urn bearers were her grandchildren: Jessica Berg, Ashley Armstrong, Justin Kremer, Jamie Kremer, Paul Kremer and William Kremer. Inurnment will be in Bethel Swedish Cemetery, rural Twin Valley, in the spring.
