Doris "Todd" Dahl, age 87, of Borup, MN, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Doris Irene Barnes was born July 19, 1933 to Dewey and Violet (Flohrs) Barnes, and lovingly became known to many as "Todd." She attended grade school and graduated from Felton high school in 1951. Doris was united in marriage to David Rolland Dahl on September 30, 1951 in the Felton Lutheran Church.  The couple made their home east of Borup, across the road from his home farm, where they continued the tradition of farming and raising dairy cattle.  Along with caring for their 8 children, Doris worked side by side with David on the farm.  She helped with the chores, pitched bails, and raised chickens.  She also canned produce, baked and always had a homecooked meal ready.  Doris had strong faith and loved to share the word of Jesus.  She asked Jesus into her life as a teenager and kept him close to her heart.  She was an active member of Landstad Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school, VBS and was assistant Sunday school superintendent for several years. Doris and David sang duets in church whenever asked. They dutifully gave a gospel program at the Halstad Nursing Home once a month, for six years. They, along with the whole family, also gave musical programs to different churches with musical instruments. Doris had many hobbies and her hands were never idle.  She spent hours knitting, crocheting, quilting, and making fleece blankets given to "First Choice" and to other places where needed. Proudly, some even went to the church's Alaskan mission.  In later years, Doris became active with Maranatha Free Lutheran Church where she continued her passion to serve.  Following David's death in 2013, Doris remained on the farm and stayed very active with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Dawn (Tom) Byers of Grand Forks, ND, Dean (Janet) Dahl of Breckenridge, MN, Joseph (Mary) Dahl of Thief River Falls, MN, Michelle Stroot of Red Lake Falls, MN, Pamela (Scott) Revier of Rochester, MN, Melody (Peter) Aasness of Fergus Falls, MN, David Jr. "Rusty" (Brenda) Dahl of Ada, MN, and Lois (Lance) Graff of West Fargo, ND; 23 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Eleanor Barnes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents, Dewey and Violet; her brother, Hartzel; and her sister, Beverly (Donnie) Bauers.
