Doris Boit, age 70, of Borup, MN, died Saturday March 7, 2015, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Doris Rose Boit was born January 16, 1945, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Sip) Krsnak at St. Cloud, MN. She lived in the Twin Valley community with her parents for a short time before they moved to a farm near Ada, MN, where she was raised. Doris graduated from Ada High School and attended Business College in Moorhead, MN, for two years. It was during this time she met her future husband, David, during a snow storm. They were united in marriage on November 5, 1966, at Ada. Doris and David made their home in Moorhead and during this time she was employed in a law office. In 1972, they moved to a farmstead just west of Borup. It was here that they raised their twin son and daughter, James and June.
Over the years, Doris was employed at several places including the school, part time on a farm and in telemarking until failing health forced her to retire. She had been diagnosed with cancer 19 years ago, and had been taking dialyses for the past 10 years. After David's death on January 3, 2000, Doris had continued to make her home west of Borup. Doris loved being outdoors working in her yard, doing gardening and tending her flowers. She enjoyed going for drives with her son in the later years simply looking at the crops and at the many works of nature. Doris loved spending time with her six grandchildren and enthusiastically followed them in their sporting events.
Doris is survived by her two children, Jim of Borup, MN, and June (Paul) Zuk of Brainerd, MN, and her grandchildren: Brianna, Alexis, Cody, Kelsey, Megan and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David.
