Donovan E. Larson, 21, of Halstad, MN died on Tuesday, January, 4th, 2011 at his home.

Donovan Eddie Larson was born on July 20th, 1989, the son of Bill Larson and Joy (Peterson) Miller at United Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. He was baptized on October 14th, 1989 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston, MN. He was confirmed on October 31, 2004, at Shelly Marsh River Church in Shelly, MN.

Donovan spent his childhood years on the family farm east of Shelly, MN. During his teen years, Donovan moved to Nielsville, MN, where he cared for his grandma, Gladys, until she passed away in 2007. In January of 2008, Donovan moved to Halstad, MN where he spent the remainder of his life. Donovan attended the Norman County Schools in Hendrum and Halstad. He graduated from Norman County West High School on May 18th, 2008. Following High School, Donovan was employed with Interstate Remodeling in Perley, MN. In May of 2009, he was employed by Airborne Custom Spraying located outside of Halstad, MN during the summer months. Throughout the rest of the year, Donovan was employed by Arneson Limited Partnership, a local farming operation.

Donovan Eddie loved to be outdoors. In his spare time, Donovan enjoyed riding ATV's, hunting, hanging out at his uncle's lake house and paintballing with the guys. He also loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews. On October 6th, 2005, Donovan began dating his high school sweetheart, Tracie Amber Hawkins. They fell in love and were beginning to plan their future together.

Donovan will always be remembered as someone who was always willing to help; he was never afraid to "get his hands dirty." Donovan was caring and loyal to all he knew. He touched the hearts of many and he will be greatly missed.

Preceding Donovan in death were his grandparents, Eddie and Gladys Larson, and his grandmother, Betty Peterson. Donovan is survived by his father, Bill (Jana) Larson (Halstad, MN) and his mother, Joy (Darcy) Miller (Thief River Falls, MN); 2 brothers, Travis and Cory; 4 sisters, Amanda (Ciro), Blair (Aaron), Christina, and Angie; and several nieces and nephews; and his girlfriend of 5 years, Tracie.

Funeral Service: 11:00AM, Monday, January 10, 2011, at Shelly Marsh River Lutheran Church, Shelly, MN.

Visitation: Sunday from 5-7PM with a 6:30PM prayer service at Fredrikson Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.

Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Shelly, MN.
