Donna Sip, age 88, of Ada, MN, died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at the Benedictine Living Community in Ada.

Donna Marie Rasmussen was born at home near Hunter, ND, on June 4, 1932 to Carl and Alice (Prestegard) Rasmussen. The family moved to Ulen, MN, in November 1936. As a young girl, Donna attended country school in Ulen District 68, northeast of Ulen, through the 8 ^th grade. She then attended Ulen High School and graduated with the class of 1950. Donna was united in marriage to Richard Sip at Grace Lutheran church, Ada on August 13, 1950. The couple made their home on the Sip family farm, northeast of Ada. Donna became a homemaker and farmers wife, often doing chores in the barn right alongside of Richard. Donna and Richard were blessed with 8 children.

Donna enjoyed her quiet time while working on her cross stitch, embroidering, and crocheting. She also spent lots of time in her garden with her mother-in-law, Helen. Donna especially loved to bake. She had many favorites, but she was known for her potato chip cookies. In the late 1980's, Donna worked at the Fayes Café in Ada as a cook and waitress. In her later years, Donna spent most of her time with her children and grandchildren, having picnics at the farm. She would also go on bus tour trips with her friend, Sylvia, that always brought back special stories. Donna also spent lots of time with her special friend, June Stene. Donna and Richard would spend their summers in Barnesville, MN, for the annual Potato Days Festival. They enjoyed camping in the back of their truck, until they couldn't climb in anymore. Donna was very proud of her cookie jar collection, reaching over 100 cookie jars throughout the years. Richard would often say "but there needs to be cookies in them". Richard passed away after nearly 68 years of marriage.

Donna is survived by her children: Steve Sip, Harriet (Larry) Stundahl, Marlene Sip-Johnson, Susanne (Jerry) Voit, Roy Sip, Kathy (Joe) De La Cruz and Jammie Sip; her grandchildren: Lonny (Linnea Henry) Stundahl, Laramy (Teresa) Stundahl, Lynae (Logan) Solberg, Laith (Tiffany) Stundahl, Naomi (Adam) Kanarr, Luccas Johnson, Jessica (Quincy) James, Tyler (Andrea Reierson) Voit, Cody Voit, Joshua Voit, Trinidad DeLaCruz, and Dan (Kari) Sip; 27 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; her sister, Ruthie Rude-Baker; sister-in-law, Hattie Shortslieve; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Alice; her husband, Richard; her son, Dave; great great granddaughter, Faye Lynn; and brother, Vernon Rasmussen.
