Remembering the Life of …

Donna Rogers, 95 years young, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 22, 2026, in her home in Apache Junction, AZ, surrounded by family, neighbors and friends and under the care of her family and Azorna Hospice of Phoenix, AZ.

Donna was born on May 3, 1930, to Edwin and Josephine (Dyrdahl) Albertson near Gary, MN.  She was confirmed, married and a life-long member of Wild Rice Lutheran Church.  Donna attended country grade school and graduated from Twin Valley High School in 1948.

On December 19, 1948, Donna and Phillip (Phil) Rogers were married.  Together they lived and farmed in the Popple Grove Township, Waubun, MN.  Donna and Phil were proud to celebrate their farm as Mahnomen County's 1st Century Farm.  Donna and Phil's days were spent working hard on the farm, taking care of milk cows, entertaining family and friends and making sure not to miss any school sporting or music events or church on Sunday.  Donna and Phil raised their daughters, Ranelle and Patti, on their lovely farm.

Their home was frequently filled with family and friends where coffee and sweet treats were waiting, and their home was always inviting and sparkling from floor to ceiling.  If the phone line was open, Donna was waiting for a call from a relative or someone in need.  Her family, friends and faith were treasures to her above any of her material possessions.  Donna loved to make things for others and spent her spare time (especially after retiring) sewing/quilting, volunteering at the church, participating in many women's and church groups, traveling, playing cards or bingo, watching Hallmark movies, and just sitting with a cup of coffee and visiting with everyone.

Donna and Phil had great love and pride in their granddaughter, Amber, who took to them quickly after being adopted by Ranelle and Mark.  Their relationship evolved quickly into a treasured one.  They loved the many hours and days spent in the wood shop, at the lake and attending her school events.  They were super special grandparents and that will be treasured forever.

Donna was known for her friendliness, her stylish attire, quick smile, warm laugh and a stern look when needed.  She loved her time spent on the farm, at the lake and wintering in Arizona plus had family and friends wherever she went.

Donna is survived by her dear family: Ranelle & Mark Fogelson, Patti (Brad Athmann) Rogers, Amber Fogelson, sister-in-law, Carolyn Albertson, and many precious extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Phil in 2019, her siblings: Edwin Albertson, Jr, Gloria "Bootsie" and Kalmer Thompson, JoAnn and Arlo Thompson and Darryl and Sharon Albertson.

Donna will be greatly missed by those left behind, but she will be forever cherished and remembered with great admiration, appreciation and love.

Memorial Services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Wild Rice Lutheran Church, rural Twin Valley, MN.  A Time of Gathering will take place one hour prior at the church.  Inurnment will be in the Wild Rice Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials in Donna's memory to be given to Wild Rice Church, Wild Rice Cemetery, the Mahnomen Historical Society or a charity of your choice.
