Donna Dittberner, 87, Halstad, MN, died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Halstad Living Center, Halstad, MN.

Donna Jean Marie Houske was born June 28, 1929, at Crookston, MN, the daughter of Richard and Elsie (Carlyle) Houske. She grew up in Halstad, where she attended school and graduated from Halstad High School in 1947. After high school she attended nurses training in Fargo for a year before she was united in marriage to Clair Dittberner on June 27, 1948. They made their home in Halstad and raised their family.

Donna was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Halstad for over 30 years and served as the Halstad Postmaster for 24 years. Donna was very active in the Halstad community as a member of Halstad Lutheran Church and the Halstad Women's Club. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling with family and friends. Clair died in 1979 and Donna continued to live and work in Halstad until she retired. She had lived at the Heritage House before becoming a resident of the Halstad Living Center.

Donna is survived by a son Michael (Susan) Dittberner, Willmar, MN, a daughter, Maribeth (Jeff) Kelly, Apple Valley, MN, 2 grandchildren, Jill (Will) Stark, and Adam (Lindsay) Dittberner, and her great grandchildren, Hannah Stark, Hope Stark, Isabelle Stark, Claire Dittberner, and Jack Dittberner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Edith Stole, and one brother, Franklin Houske.

Funeral: 11:00AM Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Halstad Lutheran Church, Halstad, MN.

Visitation: 5:00PM to 7:00PM with a 7:00PM prayer service on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad.

Burial: Halstad North Cemetery.
