Donald "Barney" Ford, age 83, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Friday, February 22, 2008, in the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.

Donald Barney Ford was born July 21st, 1924, the son of George Lonzo Ford and Alma (Olson) Ford in Ada, Minnesota. As a young boy, Barney was raised in Green Meadow township near Ada, where he where he grew to adulthood. On February 20, 1946, Barney was united in marriage to Minerva Stundahl in Twin Valley. The couple farmed with Barney's parents until they all moved to a farm northwest of Twin Valley in 1948. Barney and Minerva continued to farm there until retiring in 1990. At that time they moved into the Wimmer homes in Twin Valley, where the made their home for the next many years. After that time Barney and Minerva moved into the Valley Pines Apartments where he continued to live until the time of his death.

Barney was a member of the Twin Valley Riders Club for several years. He enjoyed the outdoors and going horseback riding on the area trails.

Barney is survived by his wife of 62 years, Minerva of Twin Valley, MN; a brother, Larry Ford of Frazee, MN; a sister, Verona Schaffer of Moorhead, MN and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dorothy Kappes, a sister-in-law, Loma Ford and a brother-in-law, Winston Schaffer.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2007, at 2:00 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, Twin Valley. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Behling with Myrna Thornton serving as organist and Theresa Dahlen serving as vocalist. Pallbearers will be Leo Low, Doug Low, Derek Forsell, Alan Riste, Roger Schaffer and Dennis Bueng.

Interment will be in the Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, Minnesota.
