Obituary

Dona Mae Heyers, age 78, of Centuria, Wisconsin formerly Gary, Minnesota went to meet Jesus, Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Regions Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota, after a long battle with cancer.

Dona Mae Andersen, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born April 2nd, 1934 the daughter of Jens and Edna (Johnson) Andersen in Gary, Minnesota. Dona grew up around the Gary, Minnesota area where she attended school and graduated from Gary High School. She was united in marriage to Douglas G. Heyers and they raised eight beautiful children. Over the years, the couple lived in several locations in Minnesota and Montana before making their home in Chisago City. Douglas passed away during the winter of 1974. Dona had relocated to Arizona for 11 years, then on to Grand Forks, North Dakota where Dona was employed at the Bronze Boot. While living in Grand Forks, she also worked at the United Church Day Care for a period of time. In 1999, Dona moved to Wisconsin, where she resided until the time of her death. She was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Taylors Falls, Minnesota.

Dona is survived by five children: Wayne (Debbie) Heyers of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Kevin Heyers of Lindstrom, Minnesota, Michelle (Jim) Roach of Dalton, Nevada, Terrance (Tana) of Taylors Falls, Minnesota and Jodie Dvorak of Grand Forks, North Dakota; a brother, Larry Andersen of Gilbert, MN, half-sister Irene Olson of Spokane and 10 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; children: Bruce, Brian and Sheila; two brothers, Roger, and Armand and a sister, Verona; five half-brothers and four half-sisters.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in First Lutheran Church, Taylors Falls, Minnesota. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Graveside services were Friday, January 4th at 1:30 p.m. in St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery, rural Gary, Minnesota. Officiating was Pastor Mark Woeltge with Toni Dravis serving as organist. Pallbearers were Wayne Heyers, Kevin Heyers, Terrance Heyers, Kevin J. Heyers, Michelle Roach and Jodie Dvorak.
