Doloris Hogenson was born in Goose Prairie Township September 3, 1926, to Alvi & Calma Hogenson. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen, Minnesota. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Ulen High School in 1943. She married Loyal Busby, Jr. on July 29, 1944, on her family farm in Hagen Township. She then moved with her husband to Goose Prairie Township where they raised their ten children and where she lived until the time of her death. Doloris passed away in her home on Saturday, November 3, 2007, surrounded by her husband and family.

Doloris thoroughly enjoyed life, approaching all things with humor and fairness. She was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the family clearinghouse of information, historian and storyteller. She enjoyed visiting and playing poker, pinochle and bingo with her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and a knowledgeable gardener with a creative flair. She was a voracious and eclectic reader with a very analytical and intuitive mind.

Doloris was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal, Minnesota, where she belonged to the Salem Ladies' Aid and was a long-time Sunday School Superintendent. She also belonged to the Ulen VFW Ladies' Auxiliary and owned and operated Ma's Store in Hitterdal, Minnesota, for thirteen years.

Doloris is survived by her husband, Loyal Busby, Jr., Hitterdal, Minnesota, her ten children: Sharon (Gene) Willgohs, Henning, MN; Patricia (Jerain "Jiggs") Anderson, West Fargo, ND; Linda (Mike) Rydjord, Vacaville, CA; Mary (Raj) Karim, Duluth; David (Rebecca) Busby, Moorhead; Danny (Lori) Busby, Hitterdal; Gail (Tom) Spillum, Rollag, MN; Paula (Breck) Wilson, Dilworth, MN; Jeri (Linn) Sakrismo, Twin Valley, MN; Maureen (David) VanDenEinde, Bejou, MN; thirty-six grandchildren, and thirty-four great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Genella Fuglie and Helen Gunderson; a sister-in-law, Delores Hogenson; and two brothers-in-law, Russell Borgen and Donald Gunderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvi & Calma Hogenson; her stepmother Inez Hogenson; her husband's parents Loyal and Stella Busby, Sr.; her brothers Harris & Clair Hogenson; her sister Joyce Borgen; an infant brother; and an infant grandson, Bradley Spillum.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 6th at 11:00 AM in Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal, MN. Visitation will be Monday from 6PM until 7PM with a Prayer Service at 7PM in Salem Lutheran Church as well as one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

Interment will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Hitterdal, Minnesota.

In consideration for the family they ask that the congregation refrain from wearing perfumes or colognes at the funeral.
