Dixie L. Fjeld, 68, rural Twin Valley, MN, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at her residence in Twin Valley from complications due to cancer.

Dixie Lee Habedank was born on March 10, 1954 to Stanley and Ramona Habedank. She grew up on a farm near Twin Valley where she played with her sisters and brothers. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was confirmed and later married there. She attended the Twin Valley School and graduated in 1972.

Dixie married the love of her life, Clifford Fjeld Jr. on August 12, 1978 and had 44 ¼ years with him. She began her career as a nurse and then transitioned into business administration and banking. She worked at the Mahnomen Bank for 5 years and attended Concordia College for a business teaching degree for 3 ½ years, and then on to St. Thomas to earn her master's degree in business. Her final job was working at MState for 25 years doing computer programming and business administration. Working in the teaching profession was a field that brought Dixie great joy. She retired on August 12, 2021. During this time, she was a caretaker for her father Stanley until he passed away on November 10, 2020, and also cared for mother, Ramona, until her health started to fail.

In her earlier years of marriage Dixie worked side by side with Cliff with the cattle, plowed fields, and raised and butchered chickens. Dixie and Cliff took the folks on trips to South Dakota, and they all enjoyed their time together. Dixie was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, friend, nurse, "ranch-hand," and teacher. Her life was filled with love for her husband, her church, being a "mommy" to their pets and ranch animals, while also being a helpful daughter and caregiver, and a loving sister. Dixie had a good heart and a love of life, family, and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Dixie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Cliff; mother, Ramona; one sister; two brothers; nieces; nephews; and other family and friends.

A private family service was held at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.
