Obituary

Denver Lien, age 87, of Ada, MN, died Thursday, October 01, 2015, in Benedictine Care Community, Ada.

Denver W. Lien was born May 21, 1928, near Twin Valley, MN, the son of Phillip and Ella (Eidiem). He was raised and attended school in Twin Valley. At the age of 16, Denver left home and began working as a brakeman on the railroad for the next 10 years. Denver then was employed at Romkey Farms, near Moorhead, for more than 20 years. On September 6, 1952, Denver was united in marriage to Betty Halvorson in Moorhead where the couple made their home for a few years. They later moved to Hitterdal, MN where Denver and Betty spent most of their 49 years of married life. Denver loved working in the yard and planting trees. He also spent hours feeding the birds and taking care of his birdhouses. Betty passed away on November 11, 2001 and for the past 14 years, Denver has made his home in Ada.

Denver is survived by his four daughters: Sheila Lien of Ada, MN, Marilyn (Steve) Prestegord of Ada, MN, Cheryl Lien of Fargo, ND and Debby (Herb) Kuball of Gary, MN; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clark (Violet) Lien of Fargo, ND.

Upon Denver's request, Private graveside services were held at a later date.
