Delmar Fleisher Jr., age 82, of Waubun, MN, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Frazee Care Center, Frazee, MN.

Delmar Jr. was born March 21, 1942, in Detroit Lakes, MN, the son of Delmar Sr. and Evelyn (Klepetka) Fleisher.  He grew up in the Waubun area and graduated from Waubun High School with the Class of 1959.  After graduation, Delmar entered the workforce followed by the United States Navy.  Following his honorable discharge in 1964, he returned to the Waubun area.  On September 28, 1968, Delmar was united in marriage to Lynda Jensen.  The couple made their home near Waubun where they raised four children.  Over the years, Delmar worked building and installing elevators for Otis, Lagerquist and Dover Elevator Companies.  Unfortunately, in 1985 he was injured on the job, ending his employment installing elevators.  Delmar then worked delivering newspapers and as the pull tab manager for the American Legion in Mahnomen before completely retiring.

Upon his retirement, Delmar focused much of his time and energy on his yard and garden. Spending countless hours weeding and picking vegetables, he became known as the family "Rainman" to his kids for his counting of everything he picked.  He would also sell the extra produce and gladiolas from his flower beds. When he wasn't in the garden, Delmar enjoyed watching the MN Vikings and Twins games, listening to Polka music after church on Sundays and pushing Lynda's buttons enough to come up with the family friendly phrase,  "Fine…Piss on You" days.  In his younger years, Delmar liked to hunt, fish, and take in his son's athletic events.  Later in life, he enjoyed the grandkids' same athletic events, jig saw puzzles and Sudoku.

Delmar is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lynda, of Waubun; two sons, Michael of Frazee and Brad of Waubun; two daughters, Stacie (Patrick) Silk of Brainerd, MN, and Wanda also of Waubun; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great nephews, Jameson and Jackson Stanhope.  He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Shirley; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Ernie) Stanhope; a daughter-in-law, Sonia; and a nephew, Eddie Stanhope.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Callaway, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be held at Ogema City Cemetery, Ogema, MN, at a later date.
